9 years ago our President, Michael Duque was introduced the girls AAU basketball world through his daughter’s participation. While supporting her along her journey, he took on various roles, but the greatest role he held was mentor.
He was moved to get involved through witnessing the needs and struggles of many of the girls from single parent households, and offered his support, dedication, and encouragement along the way. He shared his knowledge of the game of basketball as well as his own personal story of his own childhood struggles from growing up without a mom or dad and chronic homelessness. By sharing his stories of childhood hardships and struggles, Michael was able to make a huge impact in many of the girls lives by encouraging and helping them to pursue and achieve their collegiate aspirations.
